Razr

I bought a new phone while I was in Kentucky. I had been planning on getting a new phone but not until after my trip. Turns out my screen on my old phone pretty much died on me and I needed to get one. I now have a motorola razr phone. It is amazing and I love it. I am obsessed with cell phones as many of you know so it takes awhile to get over the initial excitement when I get a new one. There was some promotional thing going on when I purchased it and there was all this "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" ringtones and all that jazz that you could download for free. So, now when people send me a text message it says, "Who's your daddy now?" And when people leave me a voicemail it says, "You still alive baby?" These are all quotes from Angelina Jolie in the movie. I cannot get over it!

Airport Express

The airport is always such a fascinating place to me. It holds so many different stories. I just sat observing everyone when I was waiting for my plane in Kentucky. There's always the anticipation of saying goodbye that fills the grandparents eyes or even the parents eyes as the child is getting ready to leave. I watched a grandpa start crying because he was saying bye to his grandson. The grandmother just held onto her grandson tight and had trouble letting go. Her grandson just patted her back and told her it would okay and he was all of probably 10 years old. And then when I arrived in Houston to cetch my next flight I saw the anticipation of those waiting for someone they knew to come off the plane. They looked down the terminal just looking at every person that walked through the doors. I didn't realize that people were allowed to meet you anymore but at the Louisville and the Houston airport I guess they were. I never liked people to wait with me before I left. I just want to be dropped off and left to think about things on my own. It's still very sad, but you just get the goodbye over with.

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday

Here I am! Back from my week long excursion in Louisville, Kentucky with my mom and her side of the family. Yesterday was a sad day and today has been a sad day. I have said goodbye a lot in the past 10 months. I hate it! It's the worst thing in the world sometimes. It was good to be taken care of again and to just have someone to hug me. Needless to say, the week was full of beer, food, and lots of laughter. I am amongst a family of smart asses so it is always a riot. I was able to see my grandma who doesn't really remember me but every now and then. But that is okay. She has gotten better since moving to a nursing home and I think my mom and her siblings are happy with the outcome....I don't know when I will see everybody again and I guess that is to be expected. This is what life has planned for me and I guess I better get use to it. But Kentucky was just what I needed and I can't even begin to explain how much fun I had and how good it felt to be in the presence of people who refer to you as Baby Bear.....hahaha!!

The Party Ain't Jumpin Like It Use To

Crazy times and crazy thoughts the past couple days!! A lot of hopes, dreams, and memories! Things just aren't like they once were, are they?....But tomorrow I can relax and feel at ease. Because I will be in the presence of my mother who I so dearly miss everyday of my life. Kentucky will be good for me. Seeing her will be good for me. Remembering who I am and being reminded of where I came from will be good. My blog will be put on hold until next Friday when I return. I hope all of you have a good week and I am sure I will be texting all of you while I am gone.

Letting The Cables Sleep

I happened to hear this song at the strip club I was at over the weekend(HAHAHA)! Anyway, I really like these lyrics.

Whatever you say it's alright
Whatever you do it's all good
Whatever you say it's alright
Silence is not the way
We need to talk about it
If heaven is on the way
We'll wrap the world around it
If heaven is on the way
If heaven is on the way

I'm a stranger in this town
I'm a stranger in this town

It's Mine

I have it in my possession folks! The new Harry Potter book is mine. I am doing everything in my power not to start reading it because I want to have something to read on the planes to Kentucky. People keep saying how it's not that big of a deal because it's like 700 pages long. They don't understand that I could read all 700 pages in one night. Because it is that good.

Perfect Gentleman

I met some of my peeps in the Valley on Friday night. We hung out at a bar for a bit and then two of my guy friends wanted to go to a strip club. I think it is so fun to go to strip clubs with guys because they are so fascinated by the whole thing. Now, most of the strip clubs I have been to with my friends are not classy and the women are old and all of that good stuff....HAHAHA!! However, this place was so unbelievably classy. And the music was awesome. What surprised me was that the guys could touch the girls. I thought there was a "no touching" rule at most strip clubs. But I guess California is different when it comes to that stuff. Anyhoo, I was laughing the whole time and amazed at how the women would work it with the men. They make these men feel like they're the only person in the room and in actuality they are just doing their job. One of the strippers looked like she had 50 one dollar bills on the stage at the end of her set. I AM IN THE WRONG BUSINESS....hahaha..jk!

My Trip To The Dentist

Today I went to the dentist finally since moving here. It was weird going to someone different since I have had the same dentist since I was like 5 years old. My dentist in L-town, Colorado was way behind the times and was cheap. Therefore, he never got the new equipment and all that jazz that everybody other dentist on the block had. My mom had always told me this but I guess I didn't think anything of it because I didn't know any better. This dentist office was really nice. I felt like I was on that show "Dr. 90210" and was getting plastic surgery done. Of course, they didn't have my appointment in the computer and so I watched them as they frantically scrambled to get everything together. The most amazing thing about the office was the fact that at ever exam chair there was a TV. So, as I am waiting for them to get everything together I am watching Oprah. It was unbelievable. I ended up having a cavity, which I knew was going to happen. I haven't had a cavity in awhile and forgot how numb your mouth gets when they give you that shot of novacaine. And after cleaning my teeth I am told to squish the water around in my mouth and spit it all out. Well, I couldn't tell where half of my mouth was and so I spit it all over myself and all over the hygenist. In fact, as we speak my mouth is finally getting back to normal....HAHAHA!! And try sucking out of a straw with a swollen mouth!!!

Splish Splash

One of the things that amazes me about Southern California is how much water is wasted everyday. I mean, you all know how it is in Colorado. We were all on water restrictions and my mom was so crazy that if she didn't finish a glass of water she would walk outside and poor on the grass or a plant. But here I feel like no one cares and maybe we don't need to care as much. I can' tell you the number of times I have driven down the street and seen a guy standing there watering the sidewalk. He's not even hitting the grass. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

Harry Potter My Friends

I must express my utter enthusiasm for the sixth book to the Harry Potter series coming out on Friday night or well Saturday pretty much. I cannot express how the Harry Potter books make me feel. It's like another world when I am reading them. I don't want to put them down and I get sad when they end. I find myself reacting out loud and staying up all night reading it. I am nuts. I never thought I would get into Harry Potter and the other day a girl said it perfectly to me when I told her how excited I was about Harry Potter. She said, "Oh, you're one of those."

It's A Club Girl. Why you arriving naked?

Oh my gosh! Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith came into my work today. I couldn't stop giggling. And at one point I started singing the song "Switch" and he was right behind me. He just kind of laughed at me. Everyone was daring me to do the worm but that would have been just stupid....HAHAHAHA!!!

In Your Face

I was relaxing and watching the movie "Hitch" last night when a guy from work texted me and told me to come down to Cabo Cantina, which just happens to be directly behind my house. What I thought would be a very chill Friday night turned into a night of partying. It was good to hang out with different people and I like all those guys a lot. I always loved having guy friends and having them around makes life fun.

Spectacular Spectacular

Erin, Matt, Megan, and I went and saw "Brazilian Girls" at the House of Blues in Disneyland last night. I thought it was strange at first because I felt because we were at Disneyland that we should be on vacation or something. It is strange to me that we can just drive there. The House of Blues is in Downtown Disneyland. Anyhoo, a group called "Something For Rockets" opened up for "BG" and they were awesome. I mean really good. I was in shock the whole time with how good they are and how there is so much musical talent out there. After the concert we went to Randy's Donuts and had a little snack. It was a good night and I had a blast.

Brazilian Girls

I am going to see "Brazilian Girls" tonight. Their music can be describe as world/electronica. They do some wicked mixes and you can find a lot of their songs on Verve Remixed, Verve Remixed 2, Verve Remixed 3. It's going to be fantabulous!!

Livin On A Prayer

I heard "Livin On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi on my drive home from work today. I love this song. I love this song for the simple fact that I have nothing but good memories associated with it. Most of them are from college. You know those times when you would be with a group of your friends at a formal or a bar or something and this song would come on and everyone would go nuts. We'd all scream the chorus at the top of our lungs and the DJ would turn it down so you could only hear everyone screaming. We all sounded like shit but it didn't matter because we were all doing the same thing. Those were some memorable times and ones that always stick out in my mind when I hear that song. And even after college the song was and is still a classic. I bought a karaoke machine right after college and my friends and I use to go crazy with that song. Who would of thought Bon Jovi would have that effect on us all?

A Perfect Time Of Day

I always find it interesting when I start hearing artists on the radio that I have been listening to for quite sometime. For example, Howie Day's "Collide" has just now taken over the radio and I have been listening to Howie Day since February of 2004. I have even seen him in concert with a guy I dated for a brief moment in time(hmm...whatever happened to him?) Anyhoo, there's a line of the song "Collide" that I love. It is........

"I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind"

Happy 4th of July

It was a good drive home from work today. KROQ was playing Smashing Pumpkins the entire way home. It ended with one of my all-time favorite Smashing Pumpking songs. I think "Disarm" is one of the most beautiful lyrical and composed songs there is. It is so amazing! Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!

Roscoe's Chicken N' Waffles

Today was a fun-filled Saturday! Erin, Matt, Megan, and I headed to L.A.'s fashion district where you can find the famous Santees Alley. Santees Alley is where you get knock offs of everything. They sell fake prada, gucci, louis vuitton, chanel, and etc. You can get knock offs of Jacob watches for around $160.00 and it's normally like a $10,000 watch. I vow to get one of those one day....hahaha!! Anyway, Erin and her brother know all about what to look for that will make something look like it is actually authentic. They are like geniuses when it comes to that stuff so it's always fun to watch them and listen to them discuss certain items on Santees Alley. The place is disgusting and they sell anything and everything on it. If you want to go down there and bargain you shouldn't dress very nice and do not be wearing your gucci sunglasses and be talking on your cell phone. It is such an interesting place. Now, after awhile the massive amounts of people start to wear on you and you realize how disgusting of a place it is. But it is fun and I always enjoy it.
We then headed to Melrose and went to an awesome store called Wasteland. It's where everyone can sell back their shoes and clothes. It's kind of like a thrift store but wicked cool.
After that we headed to Hollywood for dinner at the famous Roscoe's Chicken N' Waffles. We waited for probably a little over an hour to get a table. It's not a very big place but consistently busy. It was A-MAZING!! It is completely unhealthy and a heart attack waiting to happen but it is so good. The waffles are exquisite and the chicken is perfect. I loved it! But like I said, it's not good for you and so I suggest only eating it every now and then.
Erin and I bought the bootleg DVD's for "Bewitched" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." I know it isn't right and the quality is not that great but I have seen "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and when the actual DVD comes out I will buy that as well. But it was only $5.00 and I needed to see Angelina and Jolie on a regular basis now. Also, you should see my DVD collection anyway. It's outrageous so I do buy the real DVD's....hahaha!!
