And they start coming

My roommate gave me this "tasty" necklace for my birthday from the Ed Hardy store. It is a skull with a heart in it and the words sex and sin are on its face in yellow. Also, my dearest Nick sent me the coolest present I may have ever received. He sent me a t-shirt(much like a baseball tshirt with the color sleeves) with the picture of Lee Harvey Oswald getting arrested on it. Nick's face is in place of one of the other guy's face. On the back it says "McBrown" since my last name is Brown and his is McDowell. And it has the number 27 on it for reasons that only he and I know....hahahaha!! I am so happy and feel so blessed to have people like these two in my life. It's a beautiful day!

Best Week Ever

I said goodbye to my brother before I left for work this morning. It always sucks saying goodbye to him and I guess to anyone for the matter. Because we never know when we will see each other again. It could be six months or even a year. It helped though this morning that I was barely conscious because I had just gone to bed four hours ago and had been drinking as well. I woke up wondering how I use to do this with even less sleep and more to drink. But last night I said I would suck it up because it was his last night in town. Erin and I took him to the famous Dresden and we had a blast. He seemed to really enjoy it and it was the perfect place to be. I am glad I was able to show him a little piece of Hollywood. Anyhoo, he always takes care of me when he is here and I always do my best to cover acouple of cheaper meals. However, I know it really never fully pays him back for all he spends on me while he is visiting. But I also know he appreciates my gestures and I remember him saying to me one time, "Blair, it's the one time I get to take care of you. The one time I get to take care of my baby sister!" With visitors I tend to put my normal life and routine on hold for the duration of their visit. My room is a mess and I have run out of food in the house. But it was totally worth it and I really hope one day that Trey and I will live closer to each other because he's my bro and he's my friend and he's my hero.

Baby Tay

My brother is in town for the next few days. He has been here since Saturday night. My mom use to call him "Baby Tay" when he was little and I guess she still calls him that. Those of you who know my mom would expect nothing less than this of her. Anyway, it's so nice having family around. I cannot say it enough. Everytime I see a family member I remember all over again how much I miss them and appreciate them.

05-05-05

So, I was sitting here looking at a magazine and I just realized that my birthday is 5-5-05 and I am going to be 25. That's a lot of 5's man. I mean I have to do something pretty f@#*ing amazing this year. This has got to mean something BIG is going to happen to me this year...HAHAHAHA!!!

P.S. Thank you to Nick and Nicci for informing me of what my age really is!

DMV

You know? I am amazed that they make something so necessary so very difficult. I finally got my car registered in California. They sent me on a wild goose chase and it was kind of annoying. I went back and forth to the DMV twice, got a SMOG check, and put on the actual license plates all in a matter of around 3 hours. I guess that really isn't that bad since everyone had told me it would take forever to get through the process. I guess it is official. I am staying at least another year here.

Go Ahead Envy Me, I'm Raps MVP

Do you ever just listen to song lyrics and just laugh your ass off? I know I do, especially when it comes to rap songs. These Rap Artists are doing whatever they can and usin whatever words they can to rhyme with each other. Not to mention some of the nasty/dirty songs that exist in the so-called "Rap World." For instance, I love the song "Candy Shop" by 50 cent featuring Olivia primarily because it is so fricking hysterical. I wonder how these people make all this money and become such stars. Maybe if I start talking like JaRule I could get a record deal...hahahaha!!

Kiefer Sutherland

I forgot to write this on my last post. We saw Kiefer Sutherland at the Dresden the other night. He looked like he was pretty wasted. The funniest thing is that none of us really flipped out over it. One of my friends goes, "Kiefer Sutherland is over there!" We all just looked and said, "Yep, there he is!" This is what happens in this place. Star sightings become completely normal!!

Beautiful Babies

Last night Erin and I went to the M bar where we saw a series of short films. One of the guys Erin use to work with at the Academy was showing one of his films there. It was called "Unemployed" and was awesome. I really enjoyed it. We then headed over to the Dresden Room for the rest of the evening. The Dresden Room is one of the bars that they guys go to in the movie "Swingers." It's the scene where "Stayin Alive" is playing in the background. It's the coolest place ever and I would love to go there all of the time. I have met some pretty cool people through Erin and that is making life here a lot better. I even met a girl from L-town who I went to high school with. SMALL WORLD!! This weekend rocked!!

Funny HAHAHAHA

"That was so crazy it made my crotch hurt!"

Trader Vick's

Tonight my roommates and I went to a restaurant called Trader Vick's down in Beverly Hills. My roommates had been telling me how fantastic their drink menu was. I have to say that I completely agree. Things seem pricey, but in all honesty that is just how it is in this city. And for what you get it isn't all that bad and totally worth it. So, we had dinner and drinks as we discussed life and laughed the entire time. After dinner we headed to our favorite Hooka bar called DAHAB!! Now, I am getting ready for bed after having watched a movie. It was a very pleasant and content evening. So much to do always!!

Sending Out A Love Message To The World

Cinco De Blair is in exactly three weeks. My roommates and I are going to Vegas that weekend I believe. I am inviting whoever wants to come. The more people the better. Even if I don't know you, you should still come...hahaha!! I would love all my friends to be there!!

It's Official...

For all of you dying to know, Britney Spears is officially pregnant...HAHAHAHA!!! Give me a break!

Anyway, I learned acouple things at work today. One of my friends called me, "A Gangster with no hood!" She said it to me in Spanish and of course I forgot how to say it, but for a brief moment I knew how to say, "A gangster with no hood!" in Spanish...hahahaha!!

I also have some crazy thing going on with my right eye. I look like Rocky Balboa.(DAD PLEASE DO NOT WORRY! I AM OKAY..hahaha). Anyway, I came into work and one of the girls looked at my eye and said, "Oh my gosh! You must have watched to dogs having sex!" I laughed and looked at her with nothing but confusion in my face. She said in El Salvador that is what they say when people's eyes get infected...THIS IS MY LIFE!!

Question For All Of You

I work at Sportmart in Canoga Park. Canoga Park is right by Woodland Hills and Encino where a lot of celebrities choose to make their home. This means that a lot of celebrities come into the store. I am not saying huge stars, but Mike Tyson and Arsenio Hall are pretty big to me. You sometimes get celebrities who were once popular 10 years ago. They walk into the store and you look at them because they look familiar to you for some reason but you don't know why. Then, after thinking about it you realize who they are...Anyhoo, In California we are always required to check the customers ID if they pay with any type of card. People in California do not even sign there licenses. They just always expect us to ask for it. So, here is my question....If a not so well known celebrity comes up and you recognize them but you don't really talk about the fact that you recognize them, do you still ask for their ID? Will they be pissed if you don't ask for it? Will they be flattered since you might recognize them? I always wonder these things when I am occassionally checking these people out. What do you think?

Soundtrack To My Life

Mel C. asked me the other day if I could have a soundtrack to my life what would be on it. I responded with, "To be continued....!" That's a tough question for me. In fact, I think it is a tough question for anyone. There is so much music out there that I could definitely pertain to my life somehow. Also, every year of my life would and will probably have a different soundtrack. However, I have thought about this question and managed to compile some songs that for one reason or another are my life. They are in no particular order except for the first and last song. Enjoy!

1)Dream about me-Moby
2)Amsterdam-Coldplay
3)Nothing Fails-Madonna
4)High and Dry-Radiohead
5)Fragile-Maria Mena
6)Fire-Joe Budden
7)Slipping Away-Moby
8)In The Sun-Joseph Arthur
9)Mr. Brightside-Killers
10)Flowers in December-Mazzy Star
11)Alone-Heart
12)Great Heights-The Postal Service
13)Murder on the dance Floor-Sophie Ellis Baxtor
14)Chocolate-Snow Patrol
15)Let's Go Crazy-Prince
16)Clark Gable-The Postal Service
17)Gotta Get Thru This-Daniel Beddingfield
18)More Than A Feeling-Boston

I Knew You When

Remember when the only concern was where the next party was going to be? And not necessarily where the next party was going to be but whose house you were going to hang out at that night? In college that was where all of our concerns seemed to be. I mean, yes I was concerned with my grades a great deal, but the social aspect seem to have a greater effect on me. Now, it's like all of our priorities are different. Not that it is bad thing but things seemed to be so simple before. My biggest concern use to be, "How are we getting to the bar?" and now it is, "God! I need to save up enough money for rent and every other bill I have. I can't be late to work because I am a manager and that wouldn't go over well. God, I hope my car doesn't break down!" and so on and so on. I guess I do miss those days to some degree. College was AMAZING for me!! The best four years of my life. However, I will say that my years after college haven't been that bad. I am having a pretty good time right now and it's good to grow up. It is just different! What was once fun isn't necessarily true anymore. I use to be a big party animal and don't get me wrong, I still love a good party, but not like I use to. My body can't handle it and it doesn't appeal to me anymore. I guess I knew I would eventually grow out of it to some degree. I just didn't know when!

Quote Of The Day

"I mean how different would your life be if you had to sit up straight all of the time?"
-Mel C.

HAHAHAHA....I love it!!

Moby

Moby's new CD called Hotel came out acouple of weeks ago. I have to say and this is going to be a very bold statement but it might be better than Moby's "Play" CD. And that is saying a lot because that is a must own CD. I own a lot of CD's but I am not sure if I would recommend them to very many people. However, Play by Moby is a must have. I mean, it is right up there with Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dreams" album. "Hotel" is fricking amazing and for any of you who like Moby you need to pick this one up. He has a bunch of albums, but this is way better than "18" and could possibly be better than "Play." I will let you be the judge of that.

P.S. Blackeyed Peas has a new single out!! It's off the hook!

Bunch of Bitches

Today I had to deal with a very rude lady. She was trying to pay with a fake check and so the cashier called me to the front to check it out. I look at the check and chuckle to myself and tell the lady she needs to give us her ID or she needs to have some other form of payment. She is on her cell phone the whole time, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when I am trying to help someone. She then says to me, "Can I just pay with cash?" I thought to myself, "Sure, lets see if you have $736.00 in that very small wallet of yours." The lady then decides she has to run out to her car and get some more money. As she is walking away she looks at the cashier and I and says, "Ya all are a bunch of bitches!" I turn to the cashier and start laughing consistently for the next five minutes. Needless to say, you didn't get the cash. She got in her car and drove away.

The Last Song

Everytime I hear this song is makes me think of someone. So, I heard it today and thought I would share it with you all. I am not depressed and I am not down, but this song makes me think of a certain someone.

The Last Song
By The All-American Rejects

This may be the last thing that I write for long
Can you hear me smiling when I sing this song?
For you and only you

As I leave will you be someone to say good-bye?
As I leave will you be someone to wipe your eye?
My foot is out the door and you can't stop me now

You wanted the best
It wasn't me
Will you give it back?
Now I'll take the lead
When there's no more room to make it grow
I'll see you again
You'll pretend you're naive
Is this what you want?
Is this what you need?
How you end up? Let me know

As I go remember all the simple things you know
My mind is just a crutch and I still hope
That you will miss me when I'm gone
This is the last song

The hearts start breaking as the year is gone
The dream's beginning and the time rolls on
It seems so surreal
And now I sing it
Somehow I knew that it would be this way
Somehow I knew that it would slowly fade
Now I am gone
Just try and stop me now

You wanted the best
It wasn't me
Will you give it back?
Now I'll take the lead
When there's no more room to make it grow
I'll see you again
You'll pretend you're naive
Is this what you want?
Is this what you need?
How you end up? Let me know

As I go remember all the simple things you know
My mind is just a crutch and I still hope
That you will miss me when I'm gone
This is the last song

Will you need me now
You'll find a way somehow
You wanted to
I want it too

As I go remember all the simple things you know
My mind is just a crutch and I still hope
That you will miss me when I'm gone
This is the last song

As I go remember all the simple things you know
My mind is just a crutch and I still hope
That you will miss me when I'm gone
This is the last song

Some of my favorite scenes from movies...

Hello All!! So, I have decided to include on this blog some of my all time favorite movie scenes. I will not put them in any order and I will not include all of them, but just know that these are some of the greatest moments in cinema history.

1) Very end of Karate Kid Part 1 when "Daniel Son" is doing the crane and ends up winning the match..Chills I tell you!
2) Footloose...When Kevin Bacon and the bad guy are playing chicken with the tractors. "Holding out for a Hero" is playing in the background and it is priceless.
3) Wayne's World...The Bohemian Rhapsody scene. Need I say more!!
4) Shawshank Redemption...Andy finally gets his freedom and stands up with arms out looking up to the sky. It is nuts!!
5) Orange County.."I'd like to Protose a toast!"...hahaha

There are many more where these came from!! Stay Tuned!!

Weather

I am not sure if I am ever going to be able to get over the weather here. It is hot today. And it was hot yesterday. I am walking around with shorts and sandals on. Not once did it ever feel like winter. Yes, we would get a lot of rain, but that didn't feel like winter to me. I am use to have to bundle up everytime I went outside and having to scrape the snow off my car while letting my car warm up. Here, you get in your car and just go. Many times during December and January I went to workout in my shorts and a tshirt. I didn't have to put anything on over me because it was warm. So, here we are and it is April. It is only going to get hotter from here on out. I better get use to it.

Good Weekend

Today, Erin and I had lunch at The Newsroom, which was fantastic. We then headed down to Target, which was so far a way that it was hard to believe. In Colorado there are Targets on every corner. We had some of the worse customer service I have ever physically seen and it kind of put a damper on the whole situation. Pretty messed up situation. All Erin wanted was a Beach Chair and couldn't find one. We ended up making camp at the Playa Del Rey beach. I recognized it because it is where my dad and I rode our bikes the last time he was out here. Later, we came home took a nap and then went to Chipotle in Beverly Hills. Now, I have no idea what were doing. Acouple cocktails and good conversation is probably what is in store for us.

Holy Crap that is funny!

This is a quote from one of my very best friends...

"You should pretend that there are ten other people who have the same birthday as her and just send out a mass text message that says, "Hi All! Just wanted to wish you all a happy birthday!"

I mean you really had to be there at the moment this was said, but it was so funny. See, we get a mass text from this person on Holidays and so this goes a long with it...HAHAHHA!!! I can't help it but share this with you all.
