Do You Need Help?

Today I managed to cover both of my hands with dirt and grease. See, the lock on one of our doors at work was very loose and was ready to fall off. In order to tighten those screws you need to take the DETEX box off. In order to get the DETEX box off you need a key. So, being that I seem to be the only one who knows how to communicate I call these people and request a key to be sent to us. Well, three weeks and two phone calls later the key arrives at the store. Oh and a DETEX box is that box you see on fire exit doors. It usually has an orange handle on it that says, "alarm will sound if you push it." Anyway, of course no one else wants to see if the key works and if everything can be fixed. I take on this task and finally get the key to turn with a pair of pliers. That doesn't seem normal to me, but the guy at the DETEX place said sometimes that is all that can be done. For the next hour I am at the door attempting to fix the loose lock. There were a gagillion little screws to unscrew and all this little stuff that had to be done. Now, the guys at my work love to give me shit. They do this because I give them shit right back and I mouth off to them and they think it is hysterical. So, they kept coming back and asking me if I needed help but they knew I would say no. One guy just to piss me off said, "Isn't that a man's job!" When I then proceeded to make him feel smaller than he has ever felt before. As I am standing there playing with this thing I am just thinking that I just don't get paid enough for this crap. Why am I the only one who takes care of this shit? I ended up fixing the door in the end. And as I headed to the bathroom with my dirty hands, rather than people saying, "good job!". Most of them replied with, "Your hands are disgusting!"...HAHAHA!!
