Home Is Where The Heart Is
I went to Colorado this past weekend for a dear friend's wedding. I want to first say I am sorry that I wasn't able to see anyone while I was there except for those that were involved with the wedding. It was a short trip and rather than possibly only getting to see a few people I just chose on my down time to hang with the fam. And there wasn't even much down time. It wouldn't have been fair to see only some of you. So, I plan to do my best to visit in April and hopefully be able to spend the time with you that you all deserve.
Anyway, the wedding was absolutely wonderful. I mean the whole weekend was really. Nick and Heather were absolutely stunning and so in love that you can't help but admire it. They had their wedding at the Hotel Boulderado in Boulder and I realized how much there will always be a little piece of me and my heart in Boulder. I love that place. I was able to cetch up with some old friends that were at the wedding and it felt really good. I mean it really felt good. It felt good to look back at my past with these people and appreciate that they are still in my life and always will be. As I watched Nick at his wedding I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with so many emotions. I mean I am just so happy for the big guy. My big guy! To be through so much with a person and to see how they have grown is really quite amazing. I wish he and his new wifey the best of luck.
Being in Colorado this time made me realize how much I never want to forget where I came from. And how much I truly do love Colorado. It's a beautiful place with so many wonderful memories that I couldnt' help but be nostalgic. But I felt good. I still feel good about it. I think you have to be away from a place for a little while to truly be able to appreciate it. Maybe it took me almost 3 years to realize it but I really do adore it.
