The Rules Of The Self Checkout Line
Yes, I know I have tackled this issue before. But that is what it is to me. It is an issue. I spend around 2-3 times a week in the self-checkout line because I never seem to get everything I need in one trip. Oh, and not to mention I love salad bars so I am always getting a salad but that isn't an issue right now...
Anyhoo, in observing the self-checkout line today I decided to come up with a list of guidelines to follow while partaking in the self-checkout line. :)
1. If you have never been through this process maybe give yourself a trial run. Pick a snickers out or your favorite candy of choice and just go try to use the self checkout machine. One item can't get you frazzled and you can take a little more time to get to know the screen and the buttons because you only have one item.
2. Never lean against the self-checkout machine. I don't know why but just don't do it. It causes the whole thing to go to hell. JUST DON'T DO IT!
3. I believe it says around 15 items or less but do yourself and the rest of us a favor and maybe only take a maximum of like 9 items through the line. :)
4. Don't purchase huge things through the self checkout line. Don't get a bulk of toilet paper, paper towels, four things of laundry detergent, and so on..It just takes up way too much space.
5. Don't scream in a tiraid when it is not working for you. Because two things will happen. Well, maybe more than two things...One, you will look like a complete idiot. Are you an idiot? I mean I really don't think you want people to think you are an idiot. Two, you'll have someone smartass person like myself come up to you and say in an extremely sarcastic voice, "You just have to push this button!"
6. There is always a way of getting the cashiers attention, other than screaming at he/she. You make eye contact. You kind of lean your body and your head towards he/she. You keep looking at the screen and he/she.
Now, those are just some guidelines that I think would help everyone out and make the shopping experience much better for all of us! If you have any questions feel free to write me an email..:)

7. Never take little packets of any kind. I experienced this when I tried to buy Emergen-C packets for a trip. Each packet is not enough weight for the bag to realize it is there and it won't let you move on. So then you sit on the bag area so it recognizes it...but then when you get up it thinks you have taken an item out. Craziness..just go thru normal line.
