Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all my friends and family!!!
Anyway, my New Year's Eve was a very good one to say the least. I woke up at 8:30am, which is sleeping in for me, and drove down to Marina Del Rey to FEDEX to pick up my IPOD that was bought by my dad and Ann(thanks again!). It was raining hard and Californians do not know how to drive in any other weather except sun. It's amazing to watch them try to manuever through lanes when they are covered in water.
Anyhoo, after arriving back to my place completely drenched Erin and I decided to head down to Robertson Ave. Robertson Ave. is street where stars such as Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton can be seen shopping. We went to Chrome Hearts, which is the store where Ozzy Osbourne and his family shop and it is also Britney's favorite place too. It has no sign on the building and you kind of just have to know where it is through word of mouth. It's an extremely dark place and a lot of their merchandise says FUCK YOU....HAHAHAHA!! I love this store because it is different and not too many people would actually enjoy it. I ended up buying a ring with some American Express gift cards I had gotten for Christmas. The ring has FOREVER engraved on it. I like this word. I love the meaning behind this word. It is a word that has so many different meanings to people and I find that fascinating. In the end I always think, "Really! How long is forever?"
We then had lunch at a place known for its healthy dishes called "The Newsroom." I ordered a grilled chicken avocado sandwich along with a Negro Modela beer. My roommate and I laughed because for a split second I wondered if it was wrong to be ordering a beer before noon(it was 11:45am). I quickly got over that and rationalized it by saying it was New Years.
After lunch Erin and I head down to the 3rd street promenade to window shop. We walked into Adidas where we saw the new Missy Elliott line of clothing. I have to say it's quite awesome. While down there we decided to see "Million Dollar Baby" with Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwood. It could quite possibly be the most depressing movie I have ever seen, but one of the best I have seen as well.
Later, my roommates and I headed to a Japanese place/Ramen House for dinner. It was good food and good conversation, which I love. Lots of laughter. After dinner we headed down to the Venice Beach area and ended up at a bar where there was no cover(impossible in LA) and really wasn't that crowded. There was a lot of laughter and a lot of alcohol...hahahah. For the first time I didn't get worked up because I had no one to kiss at midnight. In fact, I didn't even care. I felt good and was just happy to be there.
I hope this coming year is everything I dream of. I don't know right now what my resolutions are because I think everyday I come up with something I wish I did or did not do. I just hope to continue on my pursuit of happiness and manage to enjoy life and people along the way. To all of my friends and family remember how much I love you and not a day goes by where I don't feel blessed to have all of you.
LIFE IS A GARDEN! DIG IN!
